Jason Avezzano is a writer/director/teacher who lives in Los Angeles, California by way of the glorious state of New Jersey. Heavily influenced by theatre, Jason's work explores the emotional connections we have within ourselves and each other. His films are character based, personal, often times quirky, and reflective.
Avezzano has filmed various shorts, specs, and music videos throughout the cities of Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago. In 2019 he directed his first feature film, written and created by a pair of Second City comedy writers from Chicago. Love Dump was an official 2023 Slamdance Film Festival selection, won Best Feature at the Canadian Film Festival in 2021, won Best Narrative Feature at the Boston Independant Film Awards, and Best Comedy at the New York Independant Cinema Awards in 2022. His original short, Open, was screened at Ahrya Fine Arts Laemmle in Beverly Hills.
Daddies Boi, the most recent short film he directed, following the misadventures of two aging Sugar Babies, is currently in post- production.
